The Executive Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba has again lauded the intervention of Rep. Babajimi Benson, representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency for facilitating the construction of Pacific – Igbe Laara Road.
The road project which has been awarded for ₦15.7 billion by the Federal Executive Council, according to Ijede LCDA council boss, when completed will accelerate the social and economic development of Ijede and its environs.
The road which connects many communities in Ijede LCDA and Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDAs runs through Area N in Ijede through Igbe and other communities to link Igbe Laara to Gintin and further to Itamaga/Ijede Road. From Igbe Laara, it also links Oreyo/Igbe/Bola Tinubu/Igbogbo/Ebute Road.
Speaking with THE IMPACT on Tuesday, Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba, said that she has been pressurising the federal lawmaker over the road for more than a year, before it was finally approved.
“I am very happy for the intervention of Hon. Babajimi Benson to construct the road. I often called his attention to it, but he always tells me that I always ask for something big (laughter).
“We have actually been on the road for over a year, he always tells me that I should be patient, emphasising that what I am asking for is a big project.
“Of course, he has intervened on many occasions in Ijede LCDA like other councils, but this particular project is different and he always takes his time before answering me because my projects are always massive.”
Speaking on the impact of the road, Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba, said that the project when completed would bring development to Ijede beyond residents’ imagination.
She stated that the project will have a flyover and other features.
“Recall that I was the first to speak when the road project was approved which THE IMPACT published, thanking him for the gesture. Once again, thanks to Hon. Babajimi Benson for this intervention. It will accelerate developments in Ijede LCDA, even beyond our own imagination.”
The youthful council executive chairman furthermore expressed positive hope and outcomes with regard to the project.
“Obviously, there would be a flyover or so on the road because it is a slopping area. I might not be able to say much on the project because I am not an engineer but I know that those responsible for it will give us the best.
“They had actually visited to see the terrain and do necessary study and I have no doubt that they will give us the best,” Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba stated.
